University and an alum of Ghetto Film School, Jasiel’s work is rooted in themes of identity, generational trauma, and social change, often exploring the quiet tension between people and their environments.
She has directed a range of projects across varying budgets and scales, from the Frick Collection, commissioned short Reverie, to The Ocean Listens to No One, filmed in Iceland,
which delves into inherited pain and the legacy of abuse. In 2024, she directed Why Do You Run?, a documentary produced in partnership with Red Bull and Wings for Life to raise awareness about spinal cord injuries. In 2022, she was awarded the Mythical Creator Grant, which supported the development of two narrative shorts: Son of Mary and People Reborn.
Jasiel is currently directing The Master of Ceremonies, a poetic documentary on MC’ing across Europe. Based in New York City, she is drawn to stories that are intimate, emotionally resonant, and visually rich, centered on underrepresented characters navigating morally complex worlds.
